What's included

Everything in Stripe Account Setup

Stripe account creation and verification

Registered to your UK company with directors and persons with significant control declared to match Companies House exactly.

Website compliance review

Stripe reviews your site, not just your paperwork. We check your product pages, pricing, refund policy, terms, privacy policy and contact details against Stripe's requirements before we apply.

Business model assessment

We tell you honestly, before you pay, whether what you sell falls into Stripe's restricted or prohibited categories. Better a straight answer now than a closed account in month three.

Payout configuration

GBP payouts to your Wise or UK bank account, with the payout schedule set up and tested.

Checkout and integration guidance

Practical pointers for Shopify, WooCommerce, Stripe Checkout or Payment Links, whichever route fits how you sell.

Support through review requests

If Stripe asks for extra information after your first transactions, we help you answer it quickly and completely.

Who this is for

Is this the right fit for you?

SaaS and subscription founders

Stripe Billing handles recurring charges, trials and proration better than any alternative most small teams can reach.

Freelancers invoicing international clients

Card payment links get invoices paid in days rather than weeks of chasing bank transfers.

E-commerce stores

Native Stripe support in Shopify, WooCommerce and most storefront platforms means checkout works without custom work.

Agencies billing retainers

Automatic monthly charges beat manually invoicing the same clients every month.

What you need to provide

  • Certificate of Incorporation and company number
  • Director ID and proof of address
  • A live website with clear product or service descriptions and pricing
  • Published refund, terms, privacy and contact pages
  • Expected monthly volume, average transaction size and fulfilment timelines
  • UK bank or Wise account details for payouts

Timeline

  1. Day 1

We audit your website and business model against Stripe's restricted-business list and tell you what to change.

  2. Day 1 to 2

You make the fixes; we re-check before submitting anything.

  3. Day 2 to 3

Account created and the verification details submitted to Stripe.

  4. Day 3 to 7

Stripe completes review, payouts are enabled and we run a live test transaction with you.

What we cannot promise

Stripe decides who it onboards and can request further information, hold payouts or close an account at any time under its Services Agreement and restricted-business list. We prepare a properly structured application and fix what we can control. We cannot guarantee approval, and we will tell you before you buy if your business model is one Stripe is unlikely to accept.

Pricing for Stripe Account Setup

FAQ

Stripe Account Setup questions

Why do Stripe applications get rejected?
In our experience the top causes are: a website that does not clearly show what is being sold, missing refund or terms pages, a business category on Stripe's restricted list, a mismatch between the declared business and what the site actually offers, and company details that do not match the public register. The first four are fixable before you apply, which is exactly what our pre-application review is for.
Do I need a live website before applying?
Effectively yes. Stripe reviews a working site. If yours is not ready we will tell you what the minimum viable version needs: product pages, pricing, refund policy, terms, privacy policy and a real contact method.
What are Stripe's fees?
For a UK account, roughly 1.5% + 20p for UK cards and 2.5% + 20p for international cards at the time of writing, with a currency conversion fee on top where it applies. Stripe sets and changes these, so always check their pricing page for current numbers.
Can I use Stripe with Shopify?
Yes. Shopify Payments is built on Stripe, and standalone Stripe works as an alternative gateway. Which one is right depends on your country and store setup; we talk it through with you.
What if Stripe closes my account later?
It happens, usually after a spike in disputes or a change in what you sell. Keep dispute rates low, keep your site accurate, and tell Stripe before you change business model. If it does happen we help you understand the reason and set up an alternative processor.
